Preppy & Pink

Hi Friends,

I hope you have had a wonderful week! It seems to have flown by on our end... In the blink of an eye we are almost half way through April and planning for Mother's Day and summer weddings!

With Spring in full 'er... swing ๐Ÿ˜‰ - it is so nice to get outside and enjoy some of our favorite activities.  Jonny and I love heading to the par 3 golf course near our house to get out for a quick round during the week.  I used to appreciate golf a little more and had the patience for a whole round of 18 at a regulation course, now a quick round at the par 3 is perfect for me!  For us, it is the best of all worlds... we get to enjoy the sunshine, a nice little walk, Jonny gets to practice his short game, and I get a few swings in myself, all while spending quality time together which is always important.

Southern Proper has become one of my favorite retailers for both Jonny and me... I really wish we had a store closer.  I am so excited they have just launched their first full women's spring collection - and it is adorable!  It is perfectly appropriate for a round of golf with your guy, or lunching with your girl friends.  I have been wearing this pink gingham popover more than any shirt this spring! I love a good button up as it is, but this one combines all of my favorite aspects of a structured shirt.... pink, gingham, and a great collar (also in blue here).  I also love that they carry the scolloping throughout the line making each piece so feminine and a little flirty.   My white skirt could not be more comfy and the length is a little longer making it more day time appropriate (also in chambray here).  The shoes (mine here) are so comfortable and all of the various patterns (love these for 4th of July!)  are so fun and festive!  Whenever I wear them I get stopped to find out where they can be purchased.

Quick reminder: today is the last day of the Shopbop 25% off sale (use code: inthefam) a few of my favorite everyday items are still available: like these distressed white jeans (seen here) which I often pair with my pink popover! My favorite sunnies (the blue mirror is sold out, but still available in red/orange).  Also, this beautiful Alice and Olivia top (worn in NYC here) that is the perfect staple blouse for all seasons!

Hope you are having a wonderful week!

SpringTime Cruising

Hi Friends,

ย

I hope you had a nice weekend and great start to your week.  Jonny I were excited to have a little staycation in Boulder this past weekend, but ended up only staying at the beautiful St. Julien for about six hours because Mr. Brown got very sick and we ended up spending the better part of our Saturday at the vet :(.  Not at all where he or we wanted to be.  Thankfully, about five hours after first arriving they figured out he had a bone stuck in his belly and were able to fix him all up!

After a fun brunch with Denver's loveliest bloggers Sunday morning, it was so great to spend the day outside enjoying the sunshine with my boys.  Jonny and I often get stuck in our Lohi bubble - we love our neighborhood, so rarely leave on weekends unless we have to.  However, we have found a quick ride on the Cherry Creek Trail to another neighborhood we love (and the neighborhood Jonny grew up in), South Pearl Street.  We both agree, there is no better way to spend a sunny day than cruising between two of our favorite neighborhoods in Denver on a beautiful spring day!

off the should peasant top ($128) also love this one ($64), this one ($105), and this one ($108) // TopShop Jeans ($70) // Straw Panama Hat ($20) // Tory Burch Crossbody ($295) // lace up bootie ($149) // faux pearl studs ($30) // similar cruiser ($470)

Guys, I snapped up this pretty top ($128) last week and it has quickly become one of my favorites!  I have been loving the off the shoulder trend and can't seem to get enough of them - I also love this one, this one, and this one.  While out and about last week I also found these great TopShop jeans ($70).  It is hard for me to find jeans that hit my ankle exactly where they should because I am not the tallest gal... or even close to it at 5'2(ish) and these fit perfectly (no hemming required!) right off the bat! For sizing, I am wearing a 25.

Thinking of you all today and praying for comfort in Brussels and peace in our beautiful world.

Wanderlust - Kate Spade 75% off Sale Round - Up!

Guys,

I have a serious case of wanderlust after rounding up Kate Spade's latest 75% off sale!! OMG all of the bright colors and fun travel pieces have me giddy with excitement for our upcoming trip.  A few times a year she puts on this amazing sale, but it only lasts for a few days and things sell out quickly... the passport holder I had my eye on sold out in minutes!

X's & O's in Boulder

Growing up, we spent many weekends as a family in Boulder.  My parents, and grandparents were CU Buffs so some of my earliest memories are making the short drive from Golden to beautiful Boulder to see Ralfie run the field at football games.

My friends and I used to make the drive from Denver all of the time to bother Zoe (and crash her parties) right after we graduated from college (I strayed from the CU legacy), but I realized Jonny and I don't get up there nearly enough!  Last week I thought it would be fun to take a little day trip to Boulder to visit my cousin.  It brought back such fun memories of summer lunches on Pear St. and fall football games, that I know Jonny and I will be adding it to our list of quick getaways from now on.

We walked around and stopped in a few adorable spots including Willow, a seriously gorgeous boutique a few blocks from the middle of town! The clothes were gorgeous and the stylists were so helpful and had such a creative eye.  The structure of this jacket is ahhh-mazing (also love this one).  And I made a bee-line for this orange floral top (maybe because I have Broncos on the brain or I am ready for spring... or both!).  The same beautiful print also comes in a dress and skirt ๐Ÿ™Š๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜.  I also love these DL jeans - they are so comfortable and just the perfect amount of distressed.

What are your favorite day trips or weekend getaways?  Jonny and I love visiting new places!  Shop my whole look at Willow (mention Denver Darling when you stop in or by phone and get 20% off one item!) or shop below!

Staples and Sparkles

Hi Friends!!

Hope your week has been FANTASTIC!  It has been a fun and exciting week around here... last fall Jonny and I booked a trip to Thailand, but were unable to go because we both ended up having work conflicts.  Two nights ago we rebooked it - leaving next month!! And I have been beyond excited and crazy distracted since (the baby elephant obsession is REAL!).

Last weekend Zoe (who I mentioned is a big foodie!) took me to some amazing places when I visited her in New York.  Chelsea Market alone was one of my favorite stops.  I love farmers markets and it felt like an indoor, fancy, farmers market with every type of restaurant you can imagine... We went with Bar Suzette for lunch - seriously the most delicious and filling crepe I have ever had!! Other memorable stops were brunch at Jane, and a snack from By Chloe a vegan (although you would never know it) restaurant.

My sisters and I are big musical nerds, so clearly we had to see a show!  We went back and forth between Les Mis and Finding Neverland... after much deliberation we went with Finding Neverland because Matthew Morrison is only in it for a few more days.

When I am packing I am always sure to bring a blazer - it is the perfect multi purpose piece for a trip that can easily be dressed up or down (and a classic you can always count on - this one is three years old!)!  I wore this sparkly blazer (old also love this one and this one) to brunch with these jeans and these boots then paired with these leather leggings and these heels for dinner and the show in the evening.  PS I put all of my essentials in this clutch (steal $39) and throw it inside my large tote when traveling!

Have a wonderful weekend!!
