Holiday Week of Chic: Coats for him and her and lip kit giveaway

Happy Sunday!

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend and that you have been enjoying this Holiday Week of Chic Giveaway series as much as Lacey and I have.  Today we have partnered with Glo Minerals to give away a Lip Temptation Kit which makes for the most perfect holiday lip color!

We are exactly a week away from Christmas so today I am spending the day ordering the last of my gifts online to ensure they arrive on time.  With the amount of snow we have gotten over the past few days I have had coats on the brain as a great Christmas gift.  I snagged mine this summer (you know I never plan ahead, but this time I did and am so thankful!) and got this coat for steal! It is so incredibly warm and still on sale HERE and I also love this one and this one also on sale!  I found a very similar coat in four colors, I like the white, and 50% off ($89).

A person or two on my list have requested this coat (40% off with code Holiday).  I have this similar option in grey (worn here and here) and currently $134.  I also love this long puffer jacket very similar to the one I am wearing and $80.

Jonny always needs a new jacket (or two).  With the weather constantly changing and outdoor activities here in Colorado he always has a need for a slightly different layer (or so he thinks ;) ).

Jonny gets the a ton of use out his Patagonia jackets and fleeces - he wears them to the office, after skiing and out with friends, so you can imagine he wears through them pretty quickly.  I love this plain one and this quilted one, and know he has eye on a patterned one like this .  For work I always think it is nice for a guy to have a classic pea coat and this one is 65% off!  I also like the idea of an updated fun parka like this one $199 that is nice enough for work, but warm enough for weekends in the mountains.

Be sure to join today's giveaway and the other great giveaways that will be open for a few more days (we have two more coming your way!!) Have a wonderful Sunday!

Gifts for the Guys

Happy Tuesday,

Happy Thanksgiving week!  During this week of thanks I try and remember to take extra time to say "hello" and smile and say "Happy Thanksgiving" to strangers (as creepy as that sounds) because maybe they will pass along the gesture.  I love the saying, "it is not happy people who are thankful, but thankful people who are happy."

Today's gift guide is all about the guys in our life!  I am so incredibly thankful for all of the guys in mine.  I tried to keep them all in mind when putting this together.  Jonny actually had a say (or two) while I was picking things out in today's guide.

  1. Kiehl's Travel Ready Starter Kit $43
  2. Bose Quiet Comfort Noise Cancelling Headphones $349.95 and Wool Smart Phone Gloves $49
  3. Monogrammed Wallet $80 Cozy Slippers $110
  4. Onsie Jammies $70 Robe $165
  5. Weekender $395 (Jonny uses this one! $129)
  6. Zip Front Jacket $139 Puffer Coat $900 (splurge!) love this one too and 40% off with code holiday
  7. Embossed tie case $149 Plaid Shirt $145

My dad and Jonny both travel quite a bit for work so last year they requested a nice weekender (like this one $395).  Previously, (for all of my dad's professional life) he used a backpack for short trips and he has loved his new bag.  Jonny has this one $129, and recommends it to everyone.  Our family does Christmas jammies every year and I am planning on getting these for Jonny, they crack me up and will actually be perfect and so cozy for after skiing (fingers crossed we get some snow!).  I think this tie case would make a wonderful gift and I love that it can be personalized.

5 years ago I got Jonny his first pair of Uggs - sometimes we don't think of Ugg as a product for guys, but I think guys like soft, cozy things just as much as we do! He wears his boots to work during the winter, under jeans and after skiing (similar pair here).  I also love these slippers that I am planning to get him - I think the rubber sole will be nice for taking Stanley out in the morning.  As for whats on his wishlist for this year... he mentioned that how this jacket is (I also like this one that is 40% off with code holiday).  He has this one that he throws on for work, but this one would be nice for really cold days.  We will see ;).

I will be adding new things to my Holiday Shop all this week and will be doing my best to keep you all updated with the best sale info! So make sure to check back often this week for Black Friday sale tips and round-ups and please let me know if there is anything you have your eye on that I should be looking out for too!

Gift Guide - Every Day Favorites!

Raindrops on roses... and whiskers on kittens... bright copper kettle and warm woolen mittens!  Ok - I wont sing anymore, but that is definitely one of my favorite movies of all time!  In case you are still looking for some last minute gift ideas I will still have a few more gift guides for you the next couple of days! Today's gift guide is a list of tried and true things that I have, love and use on the reg!

I wear my glossy red Hunters everywhere (I wore here and here) and they have been such a fun addition to my winter boots,  even in the 12 inches of snow we just got in Denver!  I know us gals (sometimes) think about fashion over functionality, but these have tons of traction so are actually great in the snow - and perfect warm with a thick sock like these cute and cozy ones ($16.50 / 40% off with code BRNICK).

Until this year, I never imagined myself getting use out of my white jeans much after summer.  I have gotten more wear out of these jeans (I wore here) this fall and winter, more than any other pair in my closet.  And love this personalized wrap ($48) that is very similar to this one here.

I recently wore this coat - $139 + 20% off and free shipping with code dontmelt - (for our Christmas pictures here!) and have been wearing it non stop since! It so warm and cozy, yet has a tailored fit and not overly bulky which sometimes happens with warm winter coats.

Makeup is such a great stocking stuffer!  I have had a few emails about my favorite makeup essentials.  These are them! I love mascara... I could happily leave the house without most makeup, but just feel naked without mascara.  I love the Extreme Party mascara  - it can be layered on without clumping and still makes lashes look thick and long.  I have been loading on this Extra Lip tint - it is the perfect mix of a chapstick and lipstick.... so perfect for moisturizing and adding a little color.

I am always happy to answer any questions! Please feel free to email them or comment with them below :).  Hope your week has been wonderful!

Gifts For Dad

I canโ€™t believe that Fatherโ€™s Day is in less than two weeks (June 21st)!  So for anyone (like me) that hasnโ€™t picked their gifts yet... Here are a few ideas.

I have seen some Fatherโ€™s Day gift suggestions and always like the idea of getting great clothes for dad, but truthfully, my dad loves his ripped khaki shorts, old tennies, or beat up sandals when he is not in his tried and true suits or sportcoat.  Every time my sisters or I try and buy him new clothes they end up sitting in his closet, unworn, tags on.  He does always appreciate a new tie (this set would be wonderful) or anything Broncos related.  My dad travels quite a bit for work so Jonny and I have been tailoring his gifts to better his travel experience.  Last year we got him a duffle - this one from J.Crew Factory is nice and incredibly affordable ($58.50) (also like this one from PB) and he finally converted from his backpack, which no one thought would ever happen - ever!  This year my sisters and I may splurge and get these Bose Headphones, which I hear make traveling so peaceful.  Dadโ€™s old Fuel band (which he loves) is getting a little tired so I have also been thinking about a new Fit Bit or maybe something for cycling (like this cool CO jersey).  What do you think?

Both my Grandpa H and Papa P are stylish in their own right.  My grandpa requested that I help him find some suspenders that he can wear every day (I like these for every day and these for a special occasion).  My papa is like a character out of an old movie and never leaves home without his driving cap.  He has had the same four hats for as long as I can remember so I am planning to give him a new one in a light linen fabric for summer (like this one).  And yes, you can bet I will be sharing pictures of both of them in their new accessories :).

What fun gifts will you be giving this Father's day?
